I'm kinda new into reading, but I've fallen in love with Orwell and dystopias of that sort. I absolutely loved 1984, Fahrenheit 451, kinda liked BNW (exposition too bland for my tastes). Are there any books outside Dystopias like 1984 with the same depth and enjoyable storytelling?

I have two suggestions, 1: A Brave New World?

And 2: Gormenghast (it’s a trilogy but you can get away with reading book 2 only) is dystopian in feeling.

You can absolutely read it as dystopian if you interpret the castle as an oppressive system: The rituals and hierarchy of Gormenghast trap its inhabitants, especially Titus, in roles they cannot escape. That mirrors classic dystopian themes: rigid social control, stifling traditions, lack of personal freedom.

The castle almost has a consciousness; it shapes, dictates, and even punishes behavior. This amplifies the sense of a system that dominates its “citizens,” again echoing dystopian motifs.

Can you tell I love this book.
