Hello everybody! I am eager to buy these two new books on Toni Morrison's work as a writer and an editor. However, I am wondering whether I should wait for the paperback editions since I despise glued binding on hardcovers. To anyone who has the hardcovers: is the binding glued, sewn or both?

Got the first one last month and it’s sewn binding with signatures – really solid construction actually. Harper Collins usually does decent job with their literary hardcovers so you should be fine there
Can’t speak for the Penguin one but their academic-ish releases are usually sewn too. If you’re really worried about it maybe check some unboxing videos in youtube or ask the bookstore to let you peek at copy before buying
