Two of my all time favorites book series has been The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and the other is John dies at the end. Both I would say are totally unique something about them stands out from every other book I've ever read and I've read a lot. Does anyone have any experience reading these two books and hopefully some recommendations of similar quality and feel??
And hello would be much appreciated!

How do you feel about discworld?
I just took a look into it and it looks promising, I’ve already read good omens by Terry Pratchett and it was really good!
Chuck Palahniuk might fill the gap. He’s most famous for Fight Club, but his others are quite fun. Carl Hiaasen also has some offbeat funny books. Andrew Kaufman – All My Friends Are Superheroes might work. Leonora Carringon – The Hearing Trumpet is wild, same absurd vibe as Adams.
Discworld is a good shout honestly, especially the Guards books. Same kind of humor that’s doing more than just jokes.
Also maybe Good Omens if you haven’t read it. Similar mix of absurd and grounded.
There’s one called A Fair System, Probably that leans more dry, but it has that same “everything is ridiculous but taken seriously” kind of feel.
Jasper Fforde, Christopher Moore, and Kurt Vonnegut jr are all successful authors that are going for that
