so i’m very into queer literature at the moment and i’m looking for books with a similar vibe to the following:

lie with me by philippe besson.

written on the body by jeanette winterson (one of the most beautiful books i’ve read).

swimming in the dark by tomasz jedrowski.

    women by chloe caldwell.

i do also like classic queer literature like giovannis room obviously. please suggest me books you think i’d like!

i have also enjoyed more weirder books as well like paradise rot and dogs of summer.

    1. Young Mungo by Douglas Stuart, it’s a bit heartbreaking but so beautiful and I think based on the ones you listed you might really enjoy it :,)

You might enjoy Woodworking by Emily St. James. It’s one of the most beautiful books I’ve read.

    3. Comps for Written on the Body are hard, as it’s so unusual and brilliant, but here’s my best shot at “language is beautiful” / “basically poetry” stuff:

Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield — Literary horror; a slow meditation on grief

This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone — epistolary sci-fi romance; unique and esoteric love story

(You should also read Jeanette Winterson’s The Passion, if you haven’t yet.)

As far as weirder stuff, you might like Her Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado (literary horror short stories that feel kinda like warped dark fairytales, a bit like Paradise Rot).

You might also want to ask in r/LGBTBooks
