My fiance just finished Onyx Storm in the Empyeran Series. He listened to the series on audible, and he originally only did it for me. I have been talking about Fourth Wing for months and really wanted him to read it so he could theorize with me, but he's not much of a reader so I never actually thought he would. Then he had the idea to listen to it at work through my Audible account and it made me SOOOO happy. He surprisingly enjoyed it more than he expected he would and this morning he said "well now I don't have anything to listen to."

Sooo, now I'm trying to think of series he'd enjoy. I already have War of Lost Hearts downloaded in my audible, and I feel pretty confident that he'd enjoy it, but I also want to help him find his own vibe in the fantasy book world. He's not really one for the sappy romance stuff, he doesn't mind it, but I am a heavy romantasy reader and I don't want to ruin his new found interest in books with romance and spice lol. So I come to you, my reddit reader buds, for recommendations.

My finace is 30, and he's into games like skyrim, God of war, and fallout. While reading Fourth Wing, he kept mentioning that he likes that it kind of sounds like an anime, making connections with Naruto. He's a deep thinker, appreciating metaphors or philosophical concepts. Definitely will want something with action. Brutality, grit, and gore are pluses. But he's also kind of new to the book world, so probably something easier to "read". I would greatly appreciate breif summaries to any recommendations so I can give him a run down of the stories, and if you've listened to the audio, a rating for the voice actors will be appreciated. Also add if its a completed series or not, as he did specifically mention wanting something thats finished lol.

Oh he also enjoys listening to creepcast (I think thats what it's called) and he's always had an appreciation for SCP's, so horror is also on the table.

Thanks so much for your help!
