Hello
Can anyone recommend me books with a certain emphasis on values like honour, revenge, and with engaging characters? Preferably set in a maritime/ pirate setting or Napoleonic times.
I'm talking about books like Treasure Island, Count of Monte Cristo, and The Duellists.
The characters (The Count, Feraud, Long John Silver, or others like Ahab (Moby Dick), etc) are so interesting as they have such specific elements about them that make them stand out to me. Each is layered and driven by sheer will, making them stand out completely for me.
I prefer older books to modern ones and am searching for one excellent book to start the change from winter to spring to occupy myself with during the cold yet sunny afternoons outside.
