Never read books: gothic romance, mystery psychological / mental health

I haven't read a book since I was a teen / kid and want to get into reading! So recommend me any books out there, even the most popular ones because Ive never read much before. I'm open

I'd love a dark gothic romance book. I need the love interest to be obsessed and really passionate like Morticia and Gomez from the Addams family. So very gothic like. I also love slow burns because I hate when the couple starts getting serious way too early, it makes me not wanna read it. The same applies to fantasy – I'm not the biggest fan of fantasy. I am fine with vampires, occults, maybe magic but not so with dragons. I like thriller, mystery, psychological stuff / mental health / complex topic about humanity in general and drama as well. Romance doesn't need to be the main plot.
