We live in a digital world, screens, social media and a million pieces of information reaching us every day from all over the world. Looking back hundreds of years, it's even sick.

Books are medium, they are art. For a long time, the books remained the content enclosed in an artistic cover, a matching font. Today, even this is digital and we are happy because we have our 2000 books in one device called an e-reader.

Fans of reading e-books are proud of themselves because they can take their 2000 books on vacation, and then it turns out that they are on the phone on vacation and have not read a single book.

I've been a fan of reading ebooks for a long time, but I finally switched to paper books. For me, a book is something real, must be paper, not a digital file written in bits.

Now I'm a fan of the art that is the book. A unique cover and even a font used by the publisher for a given book. There is a smell, texture and a sense of work that the author put into the development of his work.

Reading ebooks is like listening to music on streaming in the background. As long as it was faster, as long as there were numbers and achievements. Challenges and the best 150 books to read in a year.

We're crazy and we can't appreciate a piece of paper. We are looking for comfort everywhere and we have become sad. Regards.

    1. Reading is great. However you do it. E readers are perfect for night reading. Your take is lame. Nothing wrong with having a preference but trying to portray ebook readers in a negative way just shows you to be a pathetic person.

Maybe I just like the convenience? Especially when it’s larger fantasy book lol.

      It’s not that deep

We’re still doing this one huh? Doesn’t matter how people read as long as they are reading

I can read an e-book on night mode in the middle of the night without disturbing my wife.

    6. I value reading the book more than owning the book. Collecting books isnt my hobby I don’t have space or money for a bunch of books in my life anymore, digital just works for me.

    7. I think there are many good reasons why people choose ebooks over regular books. My main reason is I don’t have enough space for books anymore. I primarily buy books as ebooks and when I really liked the book, I also buy it as a regular book.

    8. I like having my E-reader in my jacket pocket for the train instead of a 4cm thick book.

    9. A lot of projection, generalization, overreaction, and purity pushing for something relatively benign.

    10. sure but ereaders are more convenient and customizable. I like to be able to adjust the font size and lighting to my preference. to each their own! no one is right or wrong since it’s all personal

    11. E-readers make it possible to read in the same room as your sleeping baby without waking them up, or while feeding them, or while backpacking/otherwise keeping a light load.

    12. E-readers have helped a ton of people get back into reading. I’m sure the accessibility also helps a ton of people who might otherwise have trouble getting to and from a library. I think you’re getting mad at the wrong thing here and are mad at people who don’t read and say they do instead of the vessel the text gets to the individual.

I think this is a nice love letter to the paper book. If it’s your jam, enjoy it.

For me, I don’t have the space to keep up with a physical book collection, and as an avid re-reader I do like to have my whole collection within arm’s reach. But I do detest reading on my phone.

If you want to read, do however you like, but one way is not better than another.
