I’m looking for a book that examines the costumes that are chosen in movies and tv. I’m not interested in the designers, or a rundown of the most beautiful costumes, or anything ‘fashion history.’ I’m looking for a book with lots of pictures that explains why *this* character is wearing *this* costume in *this* scene. If you’re familiar with Tom and Lorenzo’s Mad Style column, that’s what I’m looking for.
I’ve found a couple of books that seem like they’re right, but then they turn out to be very technical – almost like costume design textbooks. I just want something for a layperson.
