Absolutely wrecked me. The way Auster weaves grief, obsession, and silent film into this slow-burn mystery, I need more books that hit like this. Specifically looking for: Novels about obsessive research or fandom that turns dark Books featuring mysterious reclusive artists (writers, filmmakers, etc.) Anything with that "unreliable narrator being manipulated by a larger force" vibe
