I mostly read modernism type stuff, set around ww1, not too much dialogue (or paragraphs of dialogue that go greatly in depth on something), and really philosophic type stuff. Like, the sort of book that sounds interesting, then you see the page length and amount of words on each page.

Usually, they don't have much romance, and not much fighting either (definitely more than the romance tho). More just.. words LMAO

Most important thing to me is that it's NOT fantasy. It can be supernatural in the sense of ghosts, but that's only if it already really fits what I like!

My favourite books are Der Zauberberg by Thomas Mann (I love all of Thomas Mann), Hermann Hesse, Robert Musil's The Man Without Qualities. They tend to have a pretty normal main character, a *very* grounded world. It starts off very slowly to introduce how the main character thinks, then as things go on, and shit starts happening, and the world gets increasingly ironic and sort of reveals itself to you through the billions of words.

I want this but in a cowboy story (idk if theyre all called westerns or just the ones in the west??? Idk anything about cowboy books lmao).

I will love you forever if you can recommend me anything!!! Even if you don't know if it fits!!!
