So I'm looking for historical fiction that has all of the following features:
- Author is a man (preferably part of the LGBTQ community himself)
- Main character is gay/bi/trans/etc.
- Time period is set during or before (but not after) the 1920s
Maurice, by E.M. Forster, would be one example. Many of my favorite historical fiction books are mystery/crime fiction, but I'm not necessarily looking for books that fit this genre right now.
In the title, I put "for" in quotes because I know anyone can enjoy any book. By "for queer men" I just mean books that are written with this readership in mind and try to capture their experiences through the main characters.
