Need book recommendations centered around young boy/girl alone in the country

Just finished Louis CK’s first novel “Ingram” and thoroughly enjoyed it although the ending felt a tad rushed. I’m a 30 year old man who wants to get into reading more and feeling like I found my interest with a journey through old America, any recommendations would be very appreciated
