The lies of locke lamora by scott lynch. A chaotic good type of gangster pulls heists to make a living. It’s a whole series if you like it. They call themselves the gentlemen bastards.
there’s a book called Once upon on a time in the Black Country which is based in the same area as peaky blinders, set in the 50’s. read the synopsis and see if it is for you. i’ve not read it myself but it’s on my tbr
