This year I’m reading female authors only and I’m hoping for some suggestions.

So far I’ve really enjoyed ‘Atmosphere’ and ‘Seven Husbands’ by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I liked ‘Blue Sisters’ (Coco Mellors) tho didn’t love the ending and thought it was a little long overall. I loved how ‘Pages for you’ (Sylvia Brownrigg) was written but didn’t like either of the characters. I also really enjoyed both of Jennette McCurdy’s books but probably preferred her memoir.

I enjoy reading a female perspective (that’s probably obvious) and bonus points for LBGTQ+ characters. I like relationship dramas I guess? But also family dynamics. Anything dark and psychological. I don’t know that I have a preferred genre. The only thing I don’t love is body horror, YA and fantasy.

Last year I enjoyed ‘My Dark Vanessa’, ‘In the dream House’, ‘Little Children’ & ‘I who have never known men’. Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance to whoever reads and recommends!

TL;DR: Please recommend me some dark psychological books written by women.

Hmm Sylvia Plath – The Bell Jar comes to mind. It’s definitely dark and also a classic and very profound, I think.
