hyperion cantos is perfect for this actually, you picked good example there
if you want something bit different try the expanse series – starts with leviathan wakes. has all the political intrigue like game of thrones but in space with really solid worldbuilding around how humans actually live on different planets and stations

The Expanse by James SA Corey seems like it’d be up your alley. The first book is Leviathan Wakes. The series opens with Earth and Mars on the verge of war with a mysterious other faction looking to create the spark that begins the conflict. The first book is half space opera, half detective noir.
And I’ve only read the first book so far, but Christopher Ruocchio’s Sun Eater series also seems like a good fit.
