Hi all
Looking for books with a similar prose style. Not the story or theme, but the actual quality of writing — tight, narrator not commenting, conveying humor through precise word choice, letting the absurdity set itself up.
Don’t care what the book is about. Just the actual wordsmithing. I pick up books in the book store and I put them down because they all seem so thick with overachieving effort or attempts to sound purple and poetic.

You might like P.G. Wodehouse’s Jeeves Series.
It’s a pretty unique work. I found catch 22 was in a similar absurdist vein though.
