HELP. I’m a brand new reader and started reading The last letter by Rebecca Yarros after hearing so many good reviews. I’m around 200ish pages in and quite bored. It seems like the same scenario over and over again. I recently got into reading (this is the 3rd book i’ve ever willingly read) and guess this genre isn’t for me? I told myself I’d never DNF a book but I’m so tempted to. Now i’m scared to try another book and not like it. I read the newest hunger games (SOTR) and Verity and lovedd them. Any suggestions for a new reader? How did y’all find out what you liked when you first started reading?

I really enjoyed *Ashes in Waiting*. Was my sister’s book club read a few months ago, and she recommended it after being in a rut.

It‘s ok to DNF! Life is too short to read books you don’t like. Trial and error will help you figure it out, and sometimes it’s as simple as reading more by the author whose book you enjoy. If you really liked Verity, try one of her other books!

    3. Verity was my introduction to Colleen Hoover books! I don’t know that there’s anything quite like that, but here are some places to start:

Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell
Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
      Junior Missing by Khristina Chess
First Lie Wins by Ashley ELston
Layla by Colleen Hoover (if you want another that’s kind of like Verity)
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
      Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
