I’m looking for novels with a very lush, elegant, highly descriptive prose style, something like Flaubert in Madame Bovary (especially her dressing/toilette descriptions), or La Dame aux Camélias, or even the opening of The Picture of Dorian Gray. Also, Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.
I’ve tried historical romance novels, but they don’t quite give me the same feeling. Any recommendations? Thank you in advance! 💌
