I know about The Dachsund by E.B. White which is a poem, not a novel. There's a whole series of children's books about a dachshund named Pretzel but that's for kids. I'm looking for literary fiction or even memoir where the dog's personality is front and center. The stubbornness, the weird shape, the delusion that they're ten feet tall.
What books give dachshunds their due? Fiction where the wiener dog matters. Could be funny, could be poignant. Just let the long dog shine.

*Where’d You Go, Bernadette* has this neurotic dachshund that’s basically a supporting character with more personality than half the humans in the book. The dog’s anxious energy perfectly mirrors the main character’s mental state and it’s weirdly profound how Maria Semple uses this little sausage to show what’s happening beneath the surface.
