Project Hail Mary has now made want to read out of my comfort zone. For reference, books I usually read are "weird women" literary fiction, Annie Ernaux, Clarice Lispector, anything within that sub-genre.
dude project hail mary is such a trip, went from zero sci-fi knowledge to binging the martian right after
if you’re coming from that literary fiction background maybe try something like station eleven or the left hand of darkness – they’ve got that character depth you’re used to but with the sci-fi twist that makes your brain do backflips
also vandermeer’s annihilation might be perfect since it gets wonderfully wierd in ways that feel familiar but totally alien at the same time
