Hi, I’m not really into books but rather into movies, although I’m willing to make a change! I don’t know what style I’d like to read, but I can tell you that I don’t like science fiction. To give you an idea, movies whose scenarios I loved were Shutter Island, My Beautiful Boy, Django, and Prisoners.

What I’m looking for in a book is to be impressed by something in it. It can be the plot, the language, the style or anything else.

Patiently waiting for your recommendations! Thank you

    1. This is such a great way to approach getting into reading—using movies you already love as a reference point makes total sense, and your taste (especially things like Shutter Island and Prisoners) points toward some really powerful, atmospheric stories. I think you’re absolutely on the right track looking for something impactful rather than focusing on genre alone—there are definitely books out there that will give you that same gripping, emotional experience.

Based on those movies you might dig *Gone Girl* by Gillian Flynn – twisted psychological thriller with unreliable narrators that’ll mess with your head similar to Shutter Island. For something with that gritty Django vibe try *Blood Meridian* by Cormac McCarthy, his writing style is absolutely brutal and beautiful at the same time
