I've been veering from my usual genre (romance) lately and need recs. I still can't say exactly what it is I'm looking for, but I enjoy beautiful and evocative prose and books with strong nature elements in some way.
Edit: I do best with shorter books around 300 pages. 350 is a hard upper limit.
And I’d prefer to avoid anything with strong religious themes.
I don’t mind some romance or mystery, but I’m not looking for straight-up romance or crime books. More like Once There Were Wolves, where those elements are there but not the whole point.
Books I've recently enjoyed:
– Once There Were Wolves by Charlotte McConaghy
– The Mountain Between Us by Charles Martin (I'm halfway through and I'm hooked)
– Beartooth by Callan Wink
– Consolations of the Forest by Sylvain Tesson
– Raising Hare by Chloe Dahlton
