My friend’s birthday is coming up and I’ve already sorted a personal gift, but I’d love to add a book to the mix as we’re both avid readers.
He’s currently studying philosophy at university, which has me leaning toward either Beyond Good and Evil (Nietzsche) or The Gulag Archipelago (Solzhenitsyn). Both feel like books that could genuinely shape how he thinks, but I’m torn. Additionally he’s a huge fan of Dostoevsky, but I’m pretty sure he’s read most of his books already.
Has anyone read either of these? Would one land better as a gift for a philosophy student? I am open to other suggestions too.
