Lately I’ve been trying to understand something about my own behavior.
I get distracted very easily — switching between tasks, checking my phone without thinking, avoiding anything that requires deep focus.
But the strange part is… I don’t even enjoy the distractions anymore.
Scrolling feels empty.
Videos feel repetitive.
Even after “resting”, I don’t feel refreshed.
At the same time, when I try to focus, it feels uncomfortable almost immediately — like my brain is used to constant input and doesn’t want to slow down.
It doesn’t feel like just a discipline problem.
More like something has changed in how attention works.
I’m looking for books that go deeper into this — not just productivity tips, but:
- why attention feels broken
- how overstimulation affects the brain
- why distractions stop feeling rewarding
- and how to rebuild focus and mental clarity
Prefer something practical + grounded, not overly academic.
Would really appreciate recommendations.
