One of my deepest pleasures on this earth is a riveting book, read while pool or sea side in a tropical locale. I have just such a trip coming up and would love a book or two to bring along. Please suggest me books – I have no criteria other than that, as I am willing to read anything. Recent reads that I’ve enjoyed have been Educated, Half His Age, House by the Cerulean Sea, Comanche Moon and Shadow of the Wind.

Those who take books to the beach either don’t like to read or don’t like the beach.
The Beach by Alex Garland
Paper Palace by Miranda Heller (I think)
My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell (trigger warning though)
Greta and Valdin by Rebecca K Relly
I’m not sure if these are you vibe. Paper palace I read poolside, and checked my beach read boxes. I wouldn’t say Greta and Valdin is riveting but I read on a camping trip and it was comforting and light. My Dark Vanessa is dark but riveting, and I think The Beach is just classic contemporary adventure/comedy/weird
The perfect storm by Sebastian junger is a great beach read
The Sea Around Us by Rachel Carson
The Wedding People
There is a sequel to A House in the Cerulean Sea. The title is Somewhere Beyond The Sea. I really enjoyed it.
A Novel Love Story by Ashley Poston
The Invitation by Lucy Foley
Every Summer After by Fortune. I cried such happy tears!
