Didn’t get promoted in a job that I hate under a boss that I hate in a field that I hate. Pls suggest some reads to the effect that this is not the end of the world.

Even though I hate everything about my job (even the field in which I am almost 10 year in – when including education), I am broken that I didn't get a promotion (even though I kind of saw it coming) whm i did give it my best.

I am planning to take a break to try and figure myself out and what I want to do in life.

Suggest me some reads that tell me that it is not all over and that it is never to late to figure myself out and what I want to do in life. Also that this is a not a testament of my incompetence.

Ps. What is up with the world expecting you to get your work right rhe first time round. What happened to having second, third and even fourth careers??
