The Phantom of the Opera is probably one of my favorite books. I've found that I like other Gothic fiction as well, like Frankenstein and much of Edgar Allan Poe's work. In all of these, I am deeply fascinated by how the story explores madness. I am especially intrigued by how the main character's actions/circumstances in these stories are philosophically and morally thought provoking. Especially how this is portrayed in The Phantom of the Opera.
I would like to read something else like this, it doesn't have to be Gothic fiction.
