I just finished the book 1929 by Andrew Ross Sorkin.

He's a very good writer, and it was a gripping story.

He focused on the bankers primarily because they're the ones who caused it and made it worse. Secondarily he focused on the politicians.

I'd rather read some stories about the regular people.

I know Steinbeck because I read many of his books in high school (which was a long time ago, and I would probably read them again).

    Any recommendations, especially true stories?

Or, as a twist – related to the effects of the Great Depression, whether several years later OR overseas effects (because when America coughs the world catches a cold)

    Thank you!

    1. If you don’t mind graphic novels, I HIGHLY recommend Kings In Disguise by James Vance and Dan Burr. There’s a sequel, called On The Ropes. But I haven’t read that one yet.
