Hi all, I’m 19m and used to read a lot as a kid up to about when I was 12, when I think I started using technology a lot more and drifted away from it. I’d like to get back into reading now and would like some suggestions. My favourite series growing up were things like Percy Jackson, Hunger Games, Alex Rider and, Harry Potter so nothing terribly unique. I think overall I still enjoy the same kind of genre of fantasy, action/ adventure as those are the kind of films I enjoy as well as some more lighthearted comedy films. Any recommendations that build off of what I enjoyed when I was younger would be .

Getting back into reading is all about finding something that grabs you fast, if the first few pages don’t hook you, drop it and try something else, a good story should make you forget you were ever out of the habit

Getting back into it at 19 is smart – I did the same thing around that age after falling off hard in high school

Try Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn series, it’s got that same accessible fantasy vibe as Percy Jackson but aged up. Also maybe check out Red Rising by Pierce Brown, it’s basically Hunger Games meets space which sounds right up your alley
