    Hello

Please suggest a slow burn romance that isn't insta lust or love. I started out as a romance reader when I first started reading now it's not working for me. I've some romance and romantasy and it's just not working for me. Some things I don't like are how quickly the relationship progresses, it doesn't feel organic, it feels more like lust and it's very formulaic.

I'm looking for a calm comforting romance without too much drama. I'm also okay with the romance being a subplot.

    Thank you in advance!

The slowest burn I’ve read so far has been the romance subplot across the many books of the Cleopatra Fox mystery series by CJ Archer

    2. Uzma Jalaluddin’s romances are well developed. My fave is **Much Ado About Nada**. **Ayesha at Last** and **Hana Khan Carries On** are also very good.

**Twelfth Knight** by Alexene Farol Follmuth is a cute YA romance that develops at a good pace. Good coming of age plot, too.

**The Winter Companion** by Mimi Matthews is a historical romance that shows a very sweet and healthy relationship.

**A Love Most Daring** by Joanna Barker is also historical mixed with some mystery, and very funny, too.

**Reputation at Risk** by Martha Keyes is another historical, and has a fun plot about a sort-of heist.
