Just had major surgery a little less than two weeks ago. Prior to this, I was very active. The past few months have slowed me down due to some unexpected health issues. Looking for happier reads that are light yet somewhat well-written. I am reading The Correspondent right now, and it’s great because I can read it in small spurts and it doesn’t require much effort, although I find it somewhat endearing and interesting. In search of something humorous, a love story, maybe even non-fiction, inspirational, but not super heavy. Struggling a little bit with depression that comes and goes in waves. It took my brain a little bit to turn back on after surgery, and I’m I finding that my attention span isn’t great at all.

Good healing wishes to you! I would suggest anything by Carl Hiaasen – very funny and light. Christopher Moore is also good.

The Beach House on Amelia Island by Hope Holloway

Luna and the Lie by Mariana Zapata

      Hotel Queens by Lee Winter

Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez

I hope you feel better soon x

Sounds like you may be looking for something more modern, but I’ll never be able to not recommend Jane Austen as well-written comfort reads.

Garrison Keillor’s books, like Lake Wobegon Days.

      The Flat Share, Beth O’Leary.

A Year In Provence, Peter Mayle.
