I am wanting to write a horror book about 3 lightkeepers (set in 1938), and one of the characters is a WW1 veteran who used to be an officer, and want to be able to get into his headspace more. Preferably historical fiction, as I would like to be able to actually get into a character's shoes, not just read a bunch of facts.
