Hello! I am actually looking for book suggestions for my partner. They are recently getting back in to reading. They are currently reading Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Their favorite part of it so far is the historical space travel elements of it (think the Apollo missions and the Space Shuttle program). For reference, they are a physics major with a huge interest in space and space exploration. I know they have also liked the Remembrance of Earth's Past series by Liu Cixin (The Three-Body Problem is book 1).

I have compiled the following list so far of recommendations for them:

    • Phantom Orbit by David Ignatius
    • The Calculating Stars by Mary Robinette Kowal
    • The Apollo Murders by Chris Hadfield
    • In Ascension by Martin MacInnes
    • To Be Taught, If Fortunate by Becky Chambers
    • Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur C Clarke
    • Light from Other Stars by Erika Swyler
    • Good Morning, Midnight by Lily Brooks-Dalton
    • The Stargazer’s Sister by Carrie Brown

Please give me any other suggestions you have! Preferably space related or historical science, but open to any genre. They have told me that they do not want sci-fi that is super out there (think space operas, for example). They prefer near future sci-fi.

    Thank you!!
