As the title says, I don’t think I’ve properly read a full book since 2018, which I think was Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes, the book series the television series ‘You’ is based on. I tried reading a few of the classics, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Of Mice and Men and The Outsiders.
I used to love reading books like Looking for Alaska by John Green or The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald when I was younger but between TikTok/Social media whittling down my attention span, my ADHD diagnosis and being burnt out from working a full time job and a side job, Nothing seems to grab my interest and focus like books did growing up. C’est la vie, I guess.
I’m hopeful that I’m not the only one who’s been in this situation, heck this might be taken down for being too low-quality, but I would love suggestions of books that got you back into it. Unfortunately audiobooks aren’t much of a help as my mind just wanders unless I’m only listening and not doing anything else.
I’m 28 and Male, working in IT, I enjoy Doctor Who, Lucifer, Suits, Monk, Ted Lasso, Psych, Death Note, Fleabag, Mad Men, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel & Theatre/Musicals, if that’s any help. Thanks in advance. 🙏🏻

I think Andy Weir could be up your alley. The Martian is easier to start since it’s shorter than Project Hail Mary. Both are amazing.
You might also enjoy Becky Chambers – The Wayfarers series consists of shorter individual scifi novels that are very easy to read, are entertaining but still touch on some deep philosophical tropes.
Ben Abramovitch‘s Rivers of London series could also be something you‘d enjoy – easy, fun, witty writing, set in London with a male main character.
