It has been more than a year since I finished my last book, which is Nicholas Sparks' "The Return", and honestly, I'm not that impressed anymore. Maybe because I'm tired of the same old romance stories, or maybe because books that I want are getting too pricey.

The last book I read that made me in awe was Claudia Gray's trilogy "A Thousand Pieces of You", and I loved each ending of each book. But Idk, I'm a little picky when it comes to reading sci-fi books. Ugh. So to help me get rid of this slump, I ordered a mystery box from a local bookstore, and gosh, I got more disappointed than ever. I got a sequel to another book (what, am I supposed to buy the first one, and not to mention that it's another romance book), self-help books, journals, and what the heck, a biography of a basketball player.

I love reading books, but why can't I find good books anymore?

    1. I’m not familiar with the two books you mentioned, but from looking them up, I am going to recommend This Is How You Lose The Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. It follows two agents on opposite ends of a war across time and space, as the two circle each other, told through the notes that they leave for each other.

Al’s, don’t be afraid to check out your local library! It can be a great way to find hidden gems or try new genres with a low commitment.
