I recently came across someone say "Sometimes we need to throw up everything within us. Which means we need new external forces to refill what we just threw up". Not the most poetic wording but the concept resonated with me.
I'm trying to find a book that goes into the cleansing stage of this process. I've tried to do some research online, looked into podcasts, video essays but all I've found are guided meditations (might try that too). I also came across the concept of catharsis which at first seemed the keyword here but it appears to be specifically tied to 1) repressed negative emotions and 2) mainstream religion, specifically Christianity.
I'm hoping there's a philosophy or a spiritual book on this topic? Thank you for your suggestions!
