My wife loves to read. She reads every evening, sometimes in the morning, sometimes on her lunch break. I like the idea of reading too. I used to love to read in high school. I read a TON of Star Wars novels, James Bond, Indiana Jones, and whatever was assigned all through high school. I joke that all the reading I had to do for my history major broke me, but I haven’t enjoyed reading since college. I’ve tried to start books multiple times, but rarely finish them. Jack Ryan, Ayn Rand, The Hunger Games, self help books, biographies of famous or interesting people, I just can’t finish something. My wife has made numerous suggestions and I just can’t get into any of them. I don’t want to always watch YouTube or scroll Instagram or Reddit while she’s reading, but I can’t find anything that interests me. Am I a lost cause? Is there any chance of a suggestion that might get me hooked enough to finish a whole book before I’m 40?

    1. Try the first book in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. If you like it, you’ll finish it in a few days, and there are 6 more books plus one coming out in May.
