I’m a soon-to-be 27F. Recently, I was so stressed that after work I went to my siblings’ room and plucked my old copy of Diary of a Wimpy Kid off the shelf and brought it to work the next day. I had no idea how badly I needed to laugh at Rowly STRUGGLING on Greg’s makeshift weight bench made of a broomstick and milk jugs filled with sand….it took the edge off.

    Next up: Dork Diaries

Anyone else have books that take the edge off?

Captain Underpants series was my go-to during deployment when everything felt too heavy. Those books are pure ridiculous and sometimes you just need something that makes zero sense but gets you laughing

Also the Hatchet books hit different – something about survival stories when you’re dealing with your own mental stuff makes everything feel more manageable
