I wanted to rant about a book with others so I built a platform to do so..

Last week I finished reading the pre-release chapters of Sanderson's Fires of December and wanted to talk to someone about it. My boyfriend hates fantasy (bless him! except for GoT and recently KoTSK). I had opinions I really wanted to share but no one to share them with.

Reddit is great but comes with history. Even writing this I had to create a new account and it feels like such a waste.

So I built something. It's called Driftmark.

You add a book you're currently reading and the page you're on. An orb map shows you other readers on the same book, around the same page. You can connect with one of them anonymously. If they accept, you chat.

If you both finish the book and want to stay in touch, you have 7 days to "reveal" yourselves to each other. Otherwise the conversation archives itself.

There's also mood boards. You can pin articles, music, images that capture the vibe of what you're reading and share them.

I'm a recent grad and this is my first real project. I'd genuinely love feedback. Try everything, break things and please tell me what's missing.
