Books that are one-to-one rip offs of harry potter but are also better?

I’m not a Potterhead, I’m not desperate for a replacement, it’s just that the title of this post has been nagging my brain for a while and I do have some nostalgia for it, so I guess having some kind of replacement/alternative would be nice. I know there are hundreds of different stories that are inspired by Harry Potter in some way, but none of them have the same vibe for me, I want it to have that same dark academia aesthetic that’s also whimsical. I know this a vague thing to ask but it be better than Harry Potter, I want it to read like a rewrite fanfic that had the serial numbers filed off, I want it to have all the good parts and none of the bad/poorly aged/problematic parts such as all the X-ist and X-phobic stuff that are too numerous to mention, and the characters being too… mean to each other.

Once again I want to reiterate that I’m not a Potterhead, I have plenty of other franchises that I’m into, I can live without Harry Potter, I’m just in the mood for whimsical, magical, wizards.
