I’m a healthcare professional and I love medical biographies along the lines of “The In-Between”, which is a collection of experiences documented by a hospice nurse.
Some others I enjoy are “This is going to hurt” which is about a British Doctor and his hilarious and heartbreaking journey whilst working in Obs and Gynae, aswell as “When Breath Becomes Air”, a firsthand account written by a neurosurgeon as he accepts his diagnosis of brain cancer.
I absolutely love the poignant stories and experiences which can make me simultaneously cry, laugh and gasp (maybe because it’s what I do for a living, who knows!)
Does anyone have any recommendations for books along these lines?
