Hi all. I have really enjoyed reading books that are nonfiction, but whimsical or folksy like the ones I listed! The two books I listed are special in the way that they approach anthropology (if it isn't a stretch to call it that) and "getting back to our roots" through the unique lense of folk medicine, folk tales, etc. They do not have to be women oriented, per say, but bonus points if they are!
Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction!

For a true crime take on a somehow whimsical narrative is “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil”. Whole book is beautifully narrated and almost seems fiction.
