So I’ve been just getting back into reading again after a very very long time, I enjoy sci fi, adventure/fantasy, dystopian, apocalyptic, action, spy thrillers, and ASOFAI types. Thought I’d give the dark tower series a shot, and I just found myself so bored all throughout this book. My question is should I press on with this series, does it pick up and get better? Is it worth it to read the next book?
If not, the next books in my queue are the storm light archives series, dune’s book 3 and on, red rising, or the expanse series. Would I be better off jumping into one of those? Or does anyone have any other recommendations I should check out based on my categories I mentioned?

the first book is definitely the weakest in series, it was written way before the others and has completely different feel. drawing of the three is where stephen king really found his voice for dark tower and it becomes much more engaging
that said, if you’re looking for something to grab you right away, red rising would be perfect fit for what you like. first book starts bit slow but once it gets going it’s non-stop action and has that dystopian/adventure mix you want
