looking to get back into reading, last book i really enjoyed was project hail mary

i havent read in a long time so i dont really have many examples of books i like, but PHM and the All For The Game series are books that stand out to me. looking for books similar to those (not necessarily sci fi/sports though). i like the books because i feel like the characters are well developed, character motivations+feelings make sense and are interesting, and the relationships between the characters are really good and believable. I also enjoy the plots, a good mix of external conflicts and a bit of internal conflicts.

not really interested in romance novels, though im fine if theres romance in it (i do like a good romance side plot, if its well developed). im pretty much only interested in fiction

I've also read The Martian by Andy Weir and really enjoyed it, though i did prefer PHM

Sorry if this is a bit vague, ive looked through my reading list and there isn't much else on there i still find interesting. any suggestions would be great!
