Fiction books that made you perceive the world differently?
sometimes life just feels hopeless. all I see is a future of perpetual anxiety. I would like an escape so I'm wondering if anyone has read any fiction books that have let them forget the horrors of life. something that makes you see the beauty in life, doesn't make you feel negative emotions, brings you some semblance of what life without anxiety could be.
TLDR: fiction that eases anxiety, feel-good !!

The Summer Book by Tove Jansson
Ah yes. I call these “safety books,” i.e., books that you read to stop the night tigers from terrorizing you. I always fall back on the Anne of Green Gables series by LM Montgomery, or Little House on the Prairie.
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
I think a lot of romance books do that. Certainly, escape and have some good feelings. The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood might do the trick.
Oh man I feel you ❤️
My favs:
A Gentleman in Moscow – Amor Towles (all of his work is lovely actually, and this one is quirkier/lovelier than the historical context would lead one to believe it would be)
Smoke Gets In Your Eyes & Other Lessons from the Crematorium (a memoir, I know you asked for fiction but during a particularly heavy period at work my mom got me this & I thought she was out to lunch… but she was right)
The One Hundred Old Man Who Climbed Out a Window & Disappeared (a beautiful charming read, the movie is also very good).
