Stepping out of my comfort zone to try sci-fi horror again bc I have a big yearning for it, but what has kept me away is constantly encountering books that sexualize women for no reason.
I’d love something survival related, kind of in the mood for deep alien forest and body horror, or haunted spaceship/portal to hell in space, but I would be delighted with anything. I’m really looking for long books I can get through like The Murderbot Diaries—personal, thoughtful, intense, and action packed (or hauntingly penetrating).
Some of my favorite sci-fi media are: Alien, Aliens, Event Horizon, Annihilation, The Thing, Lost in Space, Arrival, and Blade Runner; 2049, and Tales from the Loop
Some fav books include The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Night Circus, Annihilation, The Haunting of Hill House, The Electric State, A Little Life (sue me), The Invisible Man (Ralph Ellison), Swann’s Way, Moby Dick, Paradise Lost
