Quite into my Resident Evil right now, I've never really been into the whole zombie side of horror before so I want to get my teeth (no pun intended) into some books, preferably without any romance in them or as little romance as possible

Toy Soldiers by Devin C. Ford. Like the Walking Dead, but good.
The Girl with All the Gifts by MR Carey (for a sensitive philosophical take)
Early Riser by Jasper Fforde (for a sillier take)
If you’re getting into that kind of horror, World War Z by Max Brooks is a great place to start, it’s more about the global impact and survival side rather than romance. You could also try The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey, it has a slightly different take on zombie like creatures and focuses more on the story and atmosphere.
I Am Legend is interesting if you want to see a pre-zombie genre book
Also, I agree with everybody else that The Girl With All The Gifts is great
Hell Followed With Us by Andrew Joseph White. There is romance here, though.
World War Z by Max Brooks
“The One True Goddess of Acropolis High” is a play in which zombies play a prominent role. It’s available from Big Dog Publishing (www(dot)bigdogplays(dot)com)
