Hello! I’ve recently been reading and watching a lot of detective stories, and I’ve only seen this in tv shows so far (The Good Detective, Blind) but I love the trope where the main character, a detective, had something traumatic happen during their childhood that turned into a cold case, and they later stumble upon a case eerily similar.
Overall, I really enjoy stories where the main character has a heavy past that intertwines with the present. It doesn’t even have to be strictly detectives, though still thriller/mystery genre. A good found family or team dynamic is also great.
I’d love any suggestions that come my way! (Please don’t recommend In The Woods by Tana French, I’ve already read it 🙂
