Last year I got really into the Roman Empire, starting with Scipio and going all the way to the Severan Dynasty. I realized I love learning how history developed through fiction (Im not looking for an academic view) but I want to understand and have an intuition that drove main events and how people actually lived back then.
I think it would be very interesting to read my way through history to get a better sense of why things happened the way they did and how we ended up where we are today.
I’m mostly focusing on Western history for now, but I’m open to anything that is a must for how the world works. Also, since I’m from Spain, extra points for any books set here that show how the country evolved!
I'm looking to pick up where I left off (around the 3rd Century). Any recommendations?
